All-new Toyota RAV4 makes its world debut

The RAV4 is a milestone model for Toyota, as it was the vehicle that created the SUV segment. After five generations and more than 15 million sales worldwide, it now enters its sixth generation, incorporating the latest in advanced technology. In terms of design, the dynamic front styling and sculpted silhouette highlight both its off-road capability and its authentic SUV identity. The new RAV4 maintains similar dimensions to the current model.

The new RAV4 will be available in the European market in both plug-in hybrid and full hybrid versions, meeting diverse customer needs while showcasing Toyota’s multi-path strategy towards carbon neutrality. The plug-in hybrid variant features a high-capacity 22.68 kWh lithium-ion battery, offering an extended electric range of up to 100 km and faster charging. For example, on a 50 kW DC charger, the battery can recharge from 10% to 80% in just 30 minutes, thanks to an improved cooling system that helps maintain optimal temperature levels.

The new battery is paired with an upgraded front electric motor delivering an additional 16 kW, for a total output of 200 hp. Combined with the improved internal combustion engine, the new RAV4 produces a total system output of 304 PS, accelerating from 0–100 km/h in just 5.8 seconds. Power is transmitted through an automatic transmission and Toyota’s intelligent all-wheel-drive system (AWD-i). For the first time, the plug-in hybrid RAV4 will also be available in a front-wheel-drive version, delivering 268 hp.

In its full hybrid version, the new RAV4 features upgrades to the powertrain, power control unit, battery, and several other components. The AWD-i all-wheel-drive version delivers a total output of 191 hp, while the front-wheel-drive version produces 183 hp.

Inside, the model debuts Toyota’s new multimedia system, which is faster and more compact, forming part of the brand’s new digital ecosystem powered by the Arene software platform. The enhanced quality of information is reflected through sharper graphics, Google Points of Interest, and real-time navigation details.

Daily driving is made even easier with the latest version of the MyToyota app, allowing users to personalise and manage their connected services with greater convenience.

The new RAV4 is also available in the GR Sport version, offering a more dynamic driving experience thanks to specially tuned suspension. Aerodynamics have been further enhanced with the addition of front and rear spoilers, as well as lightweight 20-inch black alloy wheels that optimise airflow.

Stylistically, the RAV4 GR Sport stands out with distinctive GR badging, a signature G-mesh hexagonal grille design, and red accents on the steering wheel. The seats feature a unique combination of synthetic leather and suede, exclusive to the GR Sport edition. Thanks to the Arene software platform, the model also integrates the latest generation of Toyota Safety Sense, adding the most advanced safety and driver assistance technologies available.

The new RAV4 is expected to arrive in Cyprus in the first quarter of 2026.
