Proace Max is built with Toyota Safety Technologies including the latest generation of Toyota Safety Sense as well as the possibility to update its features over the air. -
Autonomous Emergency Brake Control
AEB Control can detect and help you avoid collisions with other vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists. It works by alerting the driver with audio and visual warnings and brake assistance. If the driver doesn’t manage to brake in time the brakes automatically engage to prevent or mitigate a collision. -
Moving Off Information System / Blind Spot Information System
The Moving Off (MOIS) and Blind Spot(BSIS) Information systems work together in order to allow the recognition of side obstacles inside the blind side area opposite to driver’s position. The system works with the interaction of a dedicated camera that manages the LED on the passenger’s side mirror and two short range radar points on bumpers together with one short-range radar points on the passenger’s side. The driver is alerted by a visual warning on the instrument cluster and mirrors, when approaching obstacles located in the blind lateral area. Visual warnings are shown as a triangular sign of alert. -
Adaptive Cruise Control / Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control
This system keeps you at a minimum pre-set distance from the vehicle in front. If this distance falls, the system reduces your speed and eventually the brakes will be applied and brake lights activated. Equipped with Road Sign Assist (RSA), this system will recognise speed limits on your driving route and suggest any necessary adjustments. -
Lane Control
Lane Control is designed to make motorway driving safer. It keeps you centred in your lane and if you start to driftn from it, steering assist will gently steer your car to correct its course. -

Smarter, easier, safer
Imagine a vehicle that works as hard as you do to keep you safe. Your Toyota van is that vehicle, with a suite of innovative safety systems. Cross Wind Assist, for example, uses the brakes to maintain vehicle stability regardless of the conditions. -
Cross Wind Assist
Cross Wind Assist works at speeds over 65km/h providing gentle, course-correcting brake application that quickly intervenes to help stabilise the vehicle through strong crosswinds, helping to keep the vehicle from drifting out of its lane. -
Intelligent Speed Assist
Helping to avoid speed violations at any time, Intelligent Speed Assist can set speed limits automatically using the Road Sign Assist information – detecting speed warning signs by the vehicle’s forward-looking camera. -
Trailer Stability Control System
Trailer Stability Control system is able to detect when the trailer is starting to oscillate while under tow and corrects any dangerous trailer swing, through a combination of either torque reduction and/or individual wheel braking, to bring the trailer and tow-vehicle back under control. -
Post Collision Braking
Post Collision Braking system intervenes in the event of an accident, automatically applying brakes to prevent secondary potential collisions. -
Attention Assist
Attention Assist system monitors driving patterns in order to detect reckless or fatigued driving and prevent potential accidents. If the system detects inattentive driving patterns, an audible sound and message on the display panel will bring this to the driver’s attention.

- Electric car performance
Charging your electric vehicle is simple and convenient. Charge whenever it suits you using the supplied cable and a domestic power socket or via a dedicated Toyota HomeCharge. For quick charging on the go, the expanding network of rapid chargers in locations like motorway service stations and supermarket car parks could have you topped up and on the road in as little as 30 minutes.*
*A charge from a 10% state of charge to 80% can be achieved in around 55 minutes with 150kW DC charging in optimal conditions, such as a temperature of around 25°C. In order to ensure effective charging and preserve battery health over the life of the vehicle, DC Fast Charging power of the Toyota Proace Max may be reduced temporarily (for roughly 24 hours) after 3.8 sessions per day (equivalent of 3.8 times 10% to 80% state of charge).
Tax relief incentives in many countries make it more rewarding to switch to a Battery Electric car. Battery Electric vehicles are often also exempt from road tax and charges for entering congestion zones and low-emission zones, saving you money. Charging an electrified vehicle can be more cost-effective than refuelling a petrol or diesel vehicle*. Charge at home overnight and it can also be more convenient than detouring to a fuel station.
*When you charge at home on an off-peak energy tariff
A charge from a 10% state of charge to 80% can be achieved in 55 minutes* with 150kW DC charging in optimal conditions, such as a temperature of around 25°C. To protect battery health and longevity, DC fast charging performance is reduced once the state of charge reaches 80%**. Please consult our charging time calculator to estimate your charging time. Simply input your specific conditions, such as the type of charger you’re using and the ambient temperature.

Selecting the Eco Driving Mode will increase efficiency and maximise use range, as will activating the Auto Eco Mode for the heater. Consider turning off the air-conditioning when not required and remember the heated seats and steering wheel are a more efficient way of staying warm than turning up the heater. It’s also a good idea to pre-condition the cabin while the car is still on charge – you can do this via the MyToyota app or vehicle's car’s multimedia display.
Ensure your tyre pressures are correctly adjusted. Low pressures will reduce use range. Winter tyres also consume more electricity on dry roads than summer tyres. Carrying unnecessary weight will increase energy usage, so be sure to remove surplus items from the vehicle. Finally, consider modifying your driving behaviour. Driving at a constant, moderate speed and avoiding unnecessary acceleration and braking will help you go further on a charge. When you do need to alter your speed, do so smoothly to decrease your energy usage.
