Toyota introduces two special editions of the iconic GR Supra

The current generation of the Toyota GR Supra comes to a close with two special editions of this purebred sports car, which remains true to its philosophy of a front engine and rear wheel drive, while standing out for its perfectly balanced weight distribution. The first model, named A90 Final Edition, will be produced in limited numbers. According to Toyota, it represents the ultimate expression of the current generation and serves as a tribute to GR Supra fans around the world. This special edition features numerous upgrades, including an increase of 95 horsepower and 70 Nm of torque, improved aerodynamics, a KW racing suspension system, and larger-diameter tires. Alongside the unveiling of the A90 Final Edition, Toyota also introduced the new GR Supra Lightweight EVO, featuring significant upgrades that promise an even more engaging driving experience.

GR Supra A90 Final Edition

The GR Supra A90 Final Edition will be produced in just 300 units, featuring a three-liter engine paired with a manual transmission. The combination of powerful performance, agility, and precise handling remains at the forefront, enhanced by a series of upgrades that further strengthen the model’s dynamic character. In particular, engine output has increased from 340 to 435 horsepower, and torque from 550 to 570 Nm, resulting in quicker acceleration and a top speed of 270 km/h.

Special attention has also been given to improving cornering behavior. The A90 Final Edition is equipped with a KW suspension system offering 16 stages of rebound adjustment and 12 stages of compression adjustment. The camber angles at both the front and rear have been revised, while the active differential has been optimized to reduce understeer. The electric power steering has received new tuning, and modifications to the anti-roll bars and the brace assembly in the luggage compartment further enhance body rigidity.

To ensure better grip and stability in corners, the car now rides on wider tires (10 mm increase), with 19-inch front and 20-inch rear wheels engraved with the “TGR” logo, complemented by reinforced 19-inch Brembo brakes.

Visually, beyond its distinctive matte black finish, the A90 Final Edition features aerodynamic refinements developed through an extensive wind tunnel testing program conducted by Toyota Gazoo Racing Europe. Highlights include a motorsport-inspired carbon-fiber front spoiler and a rear wing aligned with the styling of the GR Supra GT4. Inside, the car stands out with Recaro Podium CF full bucket seats in red and black, red seat belts, a unique steering wheel, and Alcantara upholstery, all emphasizing its racing DNA.

GR Supra Lightweight EVO

Building on customer feedback, Toyota has introduced the upgraded GR Supra Lightweight EVO, enriching the model’s arsenal with features that enhance the driving experience behind the wheel. The active differential, combined with revised front and rear camber angles and several targeted chassis refinements, improves grip and reduces understeer, while the larger brake discs provide greater control during braking.

In addition, the electronically controlled dampers and front anti-roll bar have been recalibrated for improved stability. Aerodynamic enhancements have also been implemented, including a carbon-fiber ducktail rear spoiler and new aero fins on the front wheel arches.

The distinctive appearance of the GR Supra Lightweight EVO is highlighted by matte black 19-inch alloy wheels, leather and Alcantara sport seats with an integrated “GR” logo, and red contrast stitching on the steering wheel and gear selector.

Both the GR Supra A90 Final Edition and the GR Supra Lightweight EVO will be available for order in Europe starting January 2025.
