The refreshed Toyota Aygo X goes fully hybrid

Toyota introduces the first fully hybrid model in the A-segment, opening a new chapter in urban mobility.

With CO₂ emissions of just 86 g/km, the lowest of any non-plug-in model on the market, the new Aygo X Hybrid offers the perfect balance of practicality, efficiency, and stylish design. Increased power and instant acceleration promise an even more engaging driving experience.

The new generation Aygo X integrates Toyota’s latest hybrid technology, also found in the Yaris and Yaris Cross. The combined output reaches 116 DIN hp*, allowing 0–100 km/h acceleration in under 10 seconds without compromising efficiency.

The smart architecture of the hybrid system, with the battery positioned transversely beneath the rear seats, maintains both the wheelbase (2,430 mm) and luggage capacity (231 litres). Overall length has increased by 76 mm to accommodate the larger hybrid unit while preserving the Aygo X’s familiar compact crossover proportions.

In addition to impressive performance and fuel efficiency, the new model achieves an 18% reduction in carbon footprint over its entire lifecycle, thanks to an efficient powertrain, intelligent production methods, and the use of recycled materials and environmentally friendly technologies.

The GA-B platform of Toyota’s Global New Architecture (TNGA) delivers exceptional rigidity, a low centre of gravity and outstanding handling, with a turning radius of just 4.7 metres. The Aygo X responds perfectly to the pace of the city while offering comfort and a reassuring sense of stability even on longer journeys.

The cabin is quieter thanks to improved insulation, while safety remains a top priority in Toyota’s refreshed city model. Toyota Safety Sense includes an upgraded Pre-Collision System, Lane Trace Assist, Road Sign Assist, Emergency Driving Stop System and Proactive Driving Assist, all supported by over-the-air updates to ensure continuous optimisation.

The updated exterior design of the Aygo X features a new grille, redesigned lighting units and a more grounded stance, complemented by 17- or 18-inch wheels.

For the first time, a GR SPORT version is available, inspired by TOYOTA GAZOO Racing. Finished in an exclusive Mustard bi-tone with a black bonnet, the GR SPORT stands out with a sporty G-pattern front grille, bespoke alloy wheels and GR-branded interior details. The suspension and steering have been fine-tuned to deliver a more dynamic drive without compromising comfort.

  • The interior of the Aygo X has been upgraded with a new 7-inch digital instrument cluster, an electric parking brake (standard), wireless charger, digital key, dual USB-C ports, nanoeX™ air purification system, and power-folding mirrors on higher-grade versions.

A new material, SakuraTouch®, is introduced for the interior trim, made from plant-based PVC, cork residues from the wine industry, and recycled PET. The result is a 95% reduction in CO₂ emissions compared to natural leather, without compromising on quality or durability.

The new Toyota Aygo X Hybrid is expected to arrive in the first European markets by the end of 2025, bringing sustainability and driving enjoyment closer than ever to urban drivers.
