Toyota Gazoo Racing unveils the GR Yaris Ogier and Rovanperä Editions

Toyota unveils two exclusive high-performance versions of the new GR Yaris, developed with the personal involvement of TOYOTA GAZOO Racing World Rally Team champions Sébastien Ogier and Kalle Rovanperä.

The new models were developed under the supervision of the two champions and were inspired by the desire of Toyota Motor Corporation Chairman Akio Toyoda, also known as “Morizo”, to express his respect and gratitude to the drivers who “develop our cars through motorsport,” as well as to the teams, organizers, and fans of the sport.

In each car, the standard GR Yaris “Gravel” and “Track” modes have been replaced with reprogrammed settings that reflect each driver’s personal preferences for handling and performance. Both versions are powered by the latest evolution of the GR Yaris’s 1.6-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine, producing 280 horsepower and 390 Nm of torque, paired with a six-speed intelligent manual transmission (6iMT). The Ogier and Rovanperä Editions will be produced in strictly limited numbers.

Ogier Edition

The Ogier Edition GR Yaris features two new AWD control modes: “Morizo” and “Seb”, developed by Akio Toyoda himself and Sébastien Ogier, drawing directly from their racing experience to deliver an unmistakably motorsport-inspired character.

The Ogier Edition body is finished in a special matte Stealth Grey and proudly displays the French national flag (Ogier’s homeland) on the front grille and on the 18x8J BBS forged alloy wheels. Other distinctive design elements include a newly designed CFRP carbon-fiber rear spoiler and blue-painted brake calipers.

TOYOTA GAZOO Racing decals adorn both doors, while an Ogier Edition logo appears on the rear hatch. Inside, a commemorative WRC victory plaque is mounted on the passenger side of the instrument panel, and the steering wheel features contrasting blue, grey, and red stitching, a tribute to the colors of the French flag.

Rovanperä Edition

The Rovanperä Edition introduces a unique “Donut Mode”, created especially for the youngest WRC champion, who is renowned for his exceptional drifting skills. This new mode allows for easy drifting and controlled “door-to-door” slides, maintaining a steady and powerful torque flow to the rear wheels. This GR Yaris variant also features the “Kalle Mode”.

This mode uses a fixed-ratio rear differential and Torsen limited-slip differentials at both the front and rear to deliver linear handling characteristics, allowing the rear of the car to rotate dynamically when entering a corner, while the front end is pulled forward with throttle input on exit.

The car sports an exclusive tri-color paint finish, designed by Henri Liupakka, the color designer behind Rovanperä’s drift cars, featuring a series of hand-painted patterns. In addition to the 18x8J BBS wheels, the car is equipped with a CFRP adjustable rear wing.

Finally, both special editions of the Toyota GR Yaris are expected to arrive in Toyota Cyprus showrooms this summer.
