The presentation was then taken over by Mr. Angelos Loizidis, Product Manager at Toyota Cyprus, who showcased the many advantages of the all-new Toyota C-HR, highlighting its unique technical features and advanced hybrid nature.
Mr. Loizidis emphasized the model’s design excellence and practicality, its fifth-generation hybrid technology, its unparalleled digital user experience, and the innovative Toyota T-Mate system.
He stated:
“I think we have every reason to feel proud of our new gem, but above all, excited. After seven years of success, we are here once again to present the second generation of the Toyota C-HR, in a unique venue that perfectly reflects the model’s design philosophy.
We designed the new C-HR with a more compact silhouette, larger wheels, and a wider stance. Every element was created to convey a sense of forward motion in three dimensions. This dynamic feeling is further enhanced by the striking color contrasts, which give the impression of movement even when the car is stationary.
To make the door surfaces cleaner and more robust, we introduced flush door handles - for the first time ever in a Toyota model.
Our inspiration for the interior was ‘Emotive Comfort Tech’, meaning genuine driving excitement combined with enhanced comfort. All functional elements are focused around the driver’s zone, while the wing-shaped design embraces all passengers. In fact, it’s the richness of materials and the depth of craftsmanship that complete the design and create a true sense of sophistication.”
The excitement and applause that followed the presentations culminated in the official unveiling of the all-new Toyota C-HR, a model built on Toyota’s latest fifth-generation hybrid system, further enhancing the overall driving experience.
The main goals of the fifth-generation hybrid system are improved efficiency and higher performance for an even more engaging drive. Featuring upgraded software and fine-tuned calibration based on extensive customer data analysis, the new Toyota C-HR delivers increased output, +14% for the 1.8-liter engine and +7% for the 2.0-liter version.
The new model offers better acceleration, reduced CO₂ emissions, and lower fuel consumption. Another new feature available on the hybrid Toyota C-HR is Intelligent All-Wheel Drive (AWD-i), providing drivers with peace of mind in slippery conditions through enhanced control and real-world capability. This technology creates a more enjoyable driving experience at higher speeds and in low-grip environments, with improved cornering performance.
In line with Toyota’s commitment to reducing its carbon footprint as much as possible and as quickly as possible, the company continues to offer a diverse range of powertrain solutions - part of its “multi-pathway” approach. As such, the new Toyota C-HR is offered as a fully electrified model with four different variants: 1.8-liter HEV, 2.0-liter HEV, 2.0-liter HEV All-Wheel Drive, and, for the first time, a 2.0-liter Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) version.
