The first ever battery-electric Hilux, the new all-electric version of this legendary pickup offers a WLTP driving range of up to 380km* and impressive torque from its twin electric motors.

AWD Take the long way home Engineered to explore, the all-electric Hilux takes off-road* capability to new heights. It features a permanent all-wheel drive system powered by compact front and rear eAxles. The front eAxle generates 205Nm of torque and the rear unit 268Nm. Range & battery Efficient everyday performance With up to 380km* of driving range in the city, the all-electric Hilux has the driving range and ease of use to power your lifestyle. Automatic Flashing Rear Hazard Lights (ARFHL)

This system alerts vehicles approaching from behind by flashing the hazard lights if there is a high possibility of a rear-end collision.

Automatic High Beam

The Automatic High Beam system looks down the road to see oncoming headlights. If it detects headlights, it automatically turns off the high beams and engages low beams. When the headlights pass, the system automatically switches to high beams again. The result? Safer night-time driving for you and other road users.

Blind Spot Monitor

Our Blind Spot Monitoring system alerts the driver to any vehicles they might not have seen in their side mirrors. This is particularly useful when overtaking.

Emergency Driving Stop System

If no driver input is detected for some time, audible warnings sound to alert the driver. Failing this, the vehicle automatically slows, coming to a stop without straying from the current lane. Hazard lights activate to warn other road users and doors are opened to allow easy access for emergency services, if needed.

Pre-collision System

Our Pre-Collision System can detect and help you avoid collisions with other vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists. It works by alerting the driver with audio and visual warnings and brake assistance. If the driver doesn’t manage to brake in time the brakes automatically engage to prevent or mitigate a collision.

Adaptive Cruise control (ACC)

This system keeps you at a minimum pre-set distance from the vehicle in front. If this distance falls, the system reduces your speed and eventually the brakes will be applied and brake lights activated. If your car is equipped with Road Sign Assist (RSA), this system will also recognize speed limits on your driving route and suggest any necessary adjustments.

The 48V mild hybrid system combines a turbodiesel engine and an electric motor-generator, 48V lithium-ion battery and a power converter. This provides greater efficiency and high-torque towing strength, while maintaining uncompromising all-terrain capabilities.

No. The Hybrid 48V* motor recharges itself as you drive, using engine braking to recover energy every time you come off the throttle. So it doesn’t need to be plugged in or charged – just refuel with diesel at the pump, as normal.

Hybrid 48V* uses a small electric motor and battery alongside the turbo-diesel internal combustion engine, to make your drive more smooth and efficient than a diesel engine alone. Unlike full hybrids or plug-in hybrids, it can’t run on electric power alone. It doesn’t need to be plugged in but it does need to be refuelled with diesel.

The mild hybrid system provides smoother, quieter and more efficient performance, both on and off-road. 

Yes. The 48V* Hybrid system uses Toyota’s well-proven 2.8-litre turbodiesel engine, equipped with a new electric motor-generator, a 48V lithium-ion battery and a DC-DC converter. The parts are designed for simple integration, avoiding the need for complex adjustments to the powertrain layout. These new system components are built specifically to withstand harsh operating conditions.

No – all components are designed and positioned so the Hybrid 48V* system does not compromise the vehicle’s long-established ability to withstand harsh environments, including a 700mm wading depth.
*Hybrid 48V vehicle -also known as "mild hybrid"- is primarily powered by a diesel engine, with supplementary assistance provided by a small electric motor, which is activated under certain conditions, such as during heavy duty operation. It also recovers energy during braking (regenerative braking) but the vehicle cannot drive using electric power alone.
