Range

Toyota’s all-electric bZ4X gives you freedom to go where the road takes you. Near-silent in the city, comfortable on the highway and dynamic on the open road, this is pure-electric driving made easy. *WLTP combined from 411km to 512km (depending on specification). Range figures are provided for comparison purposes and can vary depending on factors such as selected grade and transmission, accessories fitted (post registration), driving style, weather conditions, speed and vehicle load. These figures may not reflect your real-life driving results. All vehicles are certified through the Worldwide harmonised Light vehicle Test Procedure (WLTP).

Battery

Toyota’s confidence in the quality of the battery is reflected in a guarantee it will retain at least 70% of its capacity up to 10 years, covered by the original EV Manufacturing Warranty until 8 years or 160.000 kilometres, and with the additional Extended Battery Care up to 10 years or 1 million kilometres driven that is activated by an annual EV Health Check (T&C apply).

X-Mode

Fantastic AWD at a touch with the X-Mode button. Select the drive mode to suit a variety of terrain. Be confident in any condition including deep snow and mud (below 20 km/h), as well as Grip Control for tougher off-road driving (below 10 km/h).

Aerodynamic performance

Recycled materials

Heat pump‑type air‑conditioning

bZ4X uses a low-power, high-efficiency heat pump system for superior cruising range. It absorbs heat from outside air and uses it to warm the vehicle during winter. Going beyond SUV standards,bZ4X offers ingenious solutions on every drive.

Here’s your guide to range, a key aspect of electric car performance.

The WLTP range figure is an estimate based on the WLTP (Worldwide harmonised Light vehicle Test Procedure) regulations. These are a global standard Toyota follows rigorously. Use range will deviate from the WLTP value when key factors, including speed, road surface, driving behaviour and ambient temperature, differ from those specified in the WLTP test cycle. Toyota’s bZ4X website and brochure show a WLTP range from 411km to 512km (depending on vehicle version and specs) but variables may cause the use range to be lower. Please consult our range calculator to anticipate your real-world range in specific conditions, such as temperature, wheel size, Driving Mode and air-conditioning setting.

Selecting the Eco Driving Mode will increase efficiency and maximise use range, as will activating the Auto Eco Mode for the heater. Also consider turning off the air-conditioning when not required, and remember the bZ4X’s heated seats and steering wheel are a more energy-efficient way of staying warm than turning up the heater. Ensure your tyre pressures are correctly adjusted. Low pressures will reduce use range. Winter tyres also consume more electricity on dry roads than summer tyres. Carrying unnecessary weight will increase energy usage, so be sure to remove surplus items from the car. Finally, consider modifying your driving behaviour. Driving at a constant, moderate speed wherever possible, avoiding unnecessary acceleration and braking, will help you go further on a charge. When you do need to alter your speed, do so smoothly to decrease your energy usage.

With a Combined Charging System (CCS2) Onboard Battery Charger (OBC), you have many options when it comes to charging. Charge at home, at work or on the move. A charge from a 10% state of charge to 80% can be achieved in 30 minutes* with 150kW DC charging in optimal conditions, such as a temperature between 25° and 30°C.   • Home wall box

    These dedicated units are much quicker to charge than a domestic socket. With bZ4X, you can reach full recharge between 6.5-10 hours**.

  • Public charging

    For rapid charging, you can easily find fast charging stations in a number of public locations thanks to the station locator on the MyT app and within Toyota Smart Connect+. These highly efficient units are able to recharge from a 10% state of charge to 80% in 30 minutes*** with 150kW DC charging in optimal conditions, such as a temperature between 25° and 30°C.

  • DC fast charging performance

These letters refer to different charger voltages. With its 400-volt electrical architecture, the bZ4X can be charged with both a K charger (voltage between 50 and 500) and an L charger (voltage between 200 and 920) without issue.

Charging your electric vehicle is simple and convenient. Installing a wall box at home is a great way to ensure your electric car is always ready to go – simply plug it in when you get home. It’s also perfectly safe to charge from a domestic socket with the vehicle’s charging cable, though charging will take longer than it would via a wall box.

For fast and convenient charging on the go, an expanding network of rapid chargers in locations like motorway service stations and supermarket car parks could have you back on the road in as little as 30 minutes*. Cars built before January 2023 have a 7kW onboard battery charger (OBC). With a current of 32 amps, the minimum time to fully charge is 9.5 hours. Cars produced as of February 2023 have an 11kW OBC, meaning the car can be fully charged in 6.5 hours with an 11kW charge point. T-Mate is a series of systems designed to support you and make driving safer whether you’re on the motorway, in the city or parking. T-Mate makes sure you’re always in safe hands. Listed below are a selection of highlights.
  • Pre-Collision System (PCS)

    Our Pre-Collision System can detect and help you avoid collisions with other vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists. It works by alerting the driver with audio and visual warnings and brake assistance. If the driver doesn’t manage to brake in time the brakes automatically engage to prevent or mitigate a collision.

  • Road Sign Assist (RSA)

    Road Sign Assist monitors the road signs ahead, displaying useful information such as the current speed limit or overtaking restrictions on your cockpit display. The system also provides a visual and acoustic warning if the driver isn’t following a road sign indication.

  • Emergency Driving Stop System (EDSS)

    If no driver input is detected for some time, audible warnings sound to alert the driver. Failing this, the vehicle automatically slows, coming to a stop without straying from the current lane. Hazard lights activate to warn other road users and doors are opened to allow easy access for emergency services, if needed.

  • Driver Monitor Camera (DMC)

    This system uses a camera located above the steering wheel to monitor a driver's alertness and condition. A warning is delivered if the system detects an abnormal status, such as fatigue. These inputs are used to enhance the performance of the Emergency Driving Stop System (EDSS) through earlier detection of inattentiveness.

  • Rear Seat Reminder System

    This system alerts the driver if passengers or objects are left behind in the rear seat. The alert includes: a warning in the digital combi meter, then depending on model, hazard lamps as well as a buzzer will activate, when outside after locking the car.

  • Safe Exit Assist

    This system uses the Blind Spot Monitor radar to help prevent a collision between an occupant's opened door and a vehicle or cyclist approaching from behind. If there is a risk of a collision, indicators illuminate on the outer mirrors and multi-information display, together with an audible buzzer to alert occupants.

  • Lane Trace Assist

    Our Lane Trace Assist System is designed to make motorway driving safer. It keeps you centred in your lane and if you start to drift from it, steering assist will gently steer your car to correct its course.
