  • Multimedia screen The RAV4 Plug-In Hybrid offers a seamless multimedia package within its sophisticated outer design. The intuitive multimedia dashboard boasts a 10.5" touchscreen with the latest smartphone integration through wireless Apple CarPlay.
  • Digital Combi meter The newly upgraded digital combi meter in the RAV4 Plug-In Hybrid allows you to choose between four different themes: Casual, Smart, Sport and Tough to personalise your experience.   • Pre-Collision System (PCS)

    Our Pre-Collision System can detect and help you avoid collisions with other vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists. It works by alerting the driver with audio and visual warnings and brake assistance. If the driver doesn’t manage to brake in time the brakes automatically engage to prevent or mitigate a collision. Car, pedestrian, cyclist and motorbike detection are possible. Additionally, Intersection Collision Avoidance Support and Emergency Steering Assist support in the day when turning at junctions and making evasive manoeuvres.

  • Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)

    This system keeps you at a minimum pre-set distance from the vehicle in front. If this distance falls, the system reduces your speed and eventually the brakes will be applied and brake lights activated. If your car is equipped with Road Sign Assist (RSA), this system will also recognize speed limits on your driving route and suggest any necessary adjustments.

  • Blind Spot Monitor (BSM)

    Our Blind Spot Monitoring system alerts the driver to any vehicles they might not have seen in their side mirrors. This is particularly useful when overtaking.

  • Toyota Smart Connect – Road Events

    This system alerts the driver about local hazards, such as accidents ahead or slippery surfaces, by collecting information from other drivers and displaying alerts on the vehicle's multimedia screen. Depending on the type of multimedia system equipped, potential hazards can also be reported, contributing to an overall improvement in traffic safety.

  • Rear Cross Traffic Alert with Automatic Braking (RCTAB)

    When you’re backing out of a parking space, this system will identify any vehicles approaching from the left or right, alert you to them and apply the brakes to help to avoid a collision.

  • Panoramic View Monitor (PVM)

    Parking is easier and safer with this system which combines the images from four cameras to create an almost 360° view of your surroundings.

  • Rear Seat Reminder System (RSRS)

    This system alerts the driver if a passenger or object is left on the rear seat when leaving the car. The alerts will include: a warning in the cockpit meter and, subject to model, after locking the car, also hazard lamp and an audible buzzer will activate.

Driving FAQs

Hybrid and Plug-in Hybrid cars use the same proven Toyota Hybrid Synergy Drive technology, but with a notable difference.

Toyota Plug-in Hybrids feature a significantly higher capacity battery and a greater EV range of up to 75km. Plug-ins can be charged from an external electricity source, such as a domestic socket, a dedicated wallbox or on-street charger. While charging as often as possible will allow for maximum efficiency, Toyota Plug-in Hybrids run in Hybrid mode even when uncharged.

When in Hybrid mode, all Toyota Hybrids switch seamlessly between two power sources – an efficient petrol engine and an intelligent self-charging Hybrid battery. This offers a high degree of flexibility, particularly for longer journeys. 

The RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid is playfully responsive and powerful, delivering an enjoyable driving experience. It accelerates from 0-100 km/h in just 6.0 seconds thanks to its impressive traction and 306 DIN hp output.

With lower CO2 emissions and better efficiency than a conventional combustion-engine car, RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid delivers an even greater fuel economy performance (22g CO2 / 1.0L fuel combined). As well as this, RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid offers all the benefits of an incredible EV drive – from powerful instant torque to a fully silent interior space. 

When in electric mode, travel exclusively emission- free anywhere and everywhere. RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid has a range of up to up to 75 km (combined), or up to 98km (city).

Sprint to a top electric speed of 135 km/h with EV default mode, even under full throttle*. For distances longer than the pure EV range, RAV4 Plug-in seamlessly switches to operating as a Hybrid car, combining petrol and regenerated battery power.

Domestic home socket

You can recharge your RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid from a domestic power supply (10 A).

Wallbox

Fast, reliable and dedicated home/office charging is possible via a wallbox* charge unit.

Public Chargers

Plug in to any public fast chargers in the street or dedicated parking spaces. Also subscribe to the Toyota Charging Network through the MyT app to easily access nearby charging stations. 

Domestic home socket

Fully recharge in 7.5 hours*. With the ability to schedule charging times, you could benefit from reduced charging costs if your electricity tariff is cheaper overnight or at off-peak hours.

Wallbox

Installing a dedicated cable and wallbox to your home delivers optimum speed and safety, able to return a full charge in 2.5 hours*. You can also control & monitor charge using the MyToyota app remotely.

Public Chargers

Plug in to a charger accessible to the public. Just like with wallbox units, the battery will be fully charged in 2.5 hours*.

The MyT app also allows you to check the time remaining for complete charge, which is particularly useful when connected to a public charger.
