Innovation
Urban Cruiser
Urban Cruiser is a bold new concept that showcases a possible approach by Toyota to the mini SUV segment. Drawing heavily on Toyota’s heritage in Sports Utility Vehicles, the concept adds its own dynamic flair and rugged originality.
A product of ED², Toyota’s European styling studio in the south of France, Urban Cruiser is the latest Toyota to be created under the Vibrant Clarity design philosophy, while the car’s fresh interior style is inspired by modern furniture design.
Special features of the interior include the navigation screen, which is viewed through a transparent curved panel integrated into the centre console. This new generation of mini SUV is aimed at customers who strive for individualism.

Key design cue
The Toyota SUV heritage is most evident in the extensive use of a trapezoidal design element found in the front bumper, the grille and lower door panels, creating a dynamic feel while also suggesting protection.
Wheel arches emphasise SUV character
The large wheel arches converge towards the car’s geometric centre to provide a compact and agile shape, while disguising the relatively long wheelbase – itself designed to create maximum interior space.
A new approach to interiors
Designer Yi Yeong Jae moves away from traditional car interiors and takes his inspiration from modern, fashionable furniture. The seats adopt a thin, elegant design that is both space-saving and comfortable.
