About Toyota
Environment
For Toyota Motor Europe 'environment' means the management of environmental issues using an integrated approach throughout the complete life cycle of products and services. In Europe, Toyota has implemented a comprehensive and consolidated environmental management structure based on ISO14001. The aim is to continuously reduce the carbon footprint through the management of the GHG emissions resulting from all of Toyota's activities. The use of detailed chemical substance management systems further protects the environment and helps improve air quality, while full implementation of recycling management helps to reduce the demand for primary resources.
As well as reducing emissions during the product lifecycle, in-use Co2 emissions are reduced using the current vehicle technologies such as Toyota Optimal Drive and Hybrid Synergy Drive. In the future, new technologies such as Plug-in Hybrids, Electric Vehicles and Fuel Cell Hybrids will result in further reduction of emissions. Toyota is very actively researching and applying these technologies to new mobility solutions.
