Driving CRAWL Control <strong>No boundaries</strong><br /><br />
Confidently tackle challenging off-road conditions without touching the accelerator or brake pedals - all you do is steer. Crawl automatically controls engine power plus the lock-up and spin of each wheel to maintain a constant pace. Just press the ‘CRAWL’ button, select one of five speeds, and go. Speed can be changed on the move.
<br /><br />
Crawl not only improves traction and stability. It minimises wheelspin and damage to the underside of the body. Crawl also assists in freeing the vehicle when stuck. No tricky pedal operations.

Hill-start Assist Control <strong>No rollback</strong><br /><br />
Hill-start Assist Control (HAC)* applies the brakes if it detects the car moving backwards when starting off on a hill. Result: no rollback on steep inclines.

Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System <strong>Superior traction, comfort, stability & safety</strong><br /><br />
Advanced Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System* (KDSS): an electronically modulated hydraulic suspension. On-road, highly responsive suspension integrates with anti-roll bars for unrivalled steering agility and comfort. The front and rear stabilisers are connected by hydraulic fluid. When Land Cruiser begins to roll or corner, the fluid inside each hydraulic cylinder stays still to provide rock-solid stability. Accumulators absorb surface imperfections.

Off-road, the stabiliser is disconnected. With the fluid now allowed to flow freely through the system, each wheel can move more independently, doing exactly what it needs to do, remaining firmly on the ground and providing greater traction.

Multi Terrain Select <strong>Tackle the most daunting terrain</strong><br /><br />
When driving with Multi-terrain Select* (MTS) traction is optimised by controlling torque as you apply the accelerator, while the ABS automatically adjusts to the terrain to provide optimal braking performance.

Easy-to-follow driving guidance is displayed on-screen. Select from ‘Mud & Sand’, ‘Loose Rock’, ‘Mogul’ or ‘Rock’. You can also view the live Multi-terrain Monitor to track your direction and progress. MTS is activated using fingertip steering wheel controls.

Steering angle display <strong>Assured drive</strong><br /><br />
In uneven off-road conditions it is often difficult to determine your exact steering direction. New Land Cruiser’s multi-information display shows the tyre angle guidelines to give you complete confidence in these situations. When Multi Terrain Select is in use, the tyre angle guidelines let you know your predicted path.
Engines 3.0L D-4D <strong>3.0L D-4D engine</strong><br /><br />
Available with 6-speed manual or 5-speed automatic transmission, this innovative turbocharged diesel engine makes the Land Cruiser a premium on- and off-road performer. It delivers 410 Nm/1600-2800 rpm (5 A/T) of torque and 127 kW (173 DIN hp)/3400 rpm of power. The A/T model accelerates to 100 km/h in 11.7 seconds, while M/T achieves 100/km in 12.4 seconds.
<br /><br />
Refinement is a priority and you’ll notice a quieter driving experience. Class-leading fuel economy is also a feature of this engine. A/T delivers fuel consumption of only 8.1 litres/100 km* and CO2 emissions* of 214 g/km. M/T yields fuel consumption of 8.5 litres/100 km* and CO2 emissions* of 224 g/km.

Safety Active Traction Control <strong>Traction in all conditions</strong><br /><br />
Active Traction Control (A-TRC) helps keep Land Cruiser moving in the most adverse conditions on- and off-road. A-TRC can intelligently apply brake force to one wheel that may be slipping while distributing power evenly between the other three. This overcomes wheelspin to create stable start-offs and acceleration on slippery roads and in muddy conditions.
Active headrests <strong>Reduced risk of injury</strong><br /><br />
On impact, a sensor recognises that the passenger’s lower back is pressed hard against the seatback. The headrest automatically moves diagonally upward and forward to catch the back of the head. This alleviates neck impact and helps reduce the risk of whiplash in the event of a rear-end collision.
ABS, EBD & BA <strong>Secure braking</strong><br /><br />
When driving with Multi-terrain Select, the Multi-terrain Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) allows for controlled wheel lock-up during braking, providing optimal braking performance wherever you are.
<br /><br />
Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD) complements this by optimising brake force allocation between each wheel. Together the two systems keep wheels from locking, and allow you to steer around obstacles .
<br /><br />
Brake Assist (BA) is able to detect emergency braking by measuring how fast the brake pedal is depressed. In cases where not enough pressure has been applied to the brake pedal, BA will add additional braking power.
Vehicle Stability Control <strong>Stability and safety</strong><br /><br />
VSC automatically activates each individual brake as needed and controls the engine output to help maintain stability and prevent skidding when turning sharply or driving on slippery road surfaces.
Follow me home <strong>Showing the way home</strong><br /><br />
Remove the ignition key before turning off the lights and the headlamps will remain illuminated for a limited time, allowing you to safely exit your Land Cruiser and walk to your destination ahead.
